Wanted man charged after spate of break-ins as Bedfordshire Police continue burglary crackdown

A man who was wanted in connection with a number of offences has been arrested and charged, as Bedfordshire Police’s Operation Maze team continue their crackdown on burglaries.

Graham Pinsent, 54, of Stuart Street, Luton, was charged with five burglary offences and one count of criminal damage on Tuesday (23 April).

He was arrested following an investigation by the Operation Maze team into a number of burglaries across Bedford and Luton in March.

Throughout March Bedfordshire Police attended 100 per cent of burglaries reported to them.

Burglaries can occur in all seasons so make sure that your property and belongings are well secured all year round with the following advice:

Fit good quality deadlocks that bear the British Standard kitemark to all exterior doors and use them.

Fit window locks on all windows.

If you have a burglar alarm, set it when you go out and go to bed.

Ensure your house and car keys are put in a safe place and not visible from outside. Some crimes are committed by keys being hooked through the letterbox.

Double lock front doors when going out or going to bed so that they can’t be ‘popped’ open.

Prevent keyless vehicle theft by storing keys in a faraday pouch or container

Make sure you know the identity of the person you are letting into your home.

Going out? Consider turning on your radio or TV and leave a light on so it seems as if someone is at home.

Lock sheds and outhouses securely so thieves don’t have easy access to tools to get into your property.
